The second and last season of Prime Video’s Carnival Row is set to premiere this February, and we’ve got a trailer today that hints what the upcoming episodes will be about.

Philo (Orlando Bloom) is investigating a new series of murders while his love, the pixie Vignette (Cara Delevingne), is fighting guerilla-style against the systemic oppression she and other fae-kind face. The other star-crossed lovers of the show, Imogen and Agreus (Tamzin Merchant and David Gyasi respectively) are also literally being pulled apart by a society that frowns on human-fae couplings. Add in some state-sanctioned murders of the innocent, and things look close to a boiling point for The Burgue.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

The Keeper’s Six

In a fantasy world where humans and creatures clash, Season Two of Carnival Row picks up with former inspector Rycroft Philostrate a.k.a. Philo (Orlando Bloom) investigating a series of gruesome murders stoking social tension. Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevingne) and the Black Raven plot payback for the unjust oppression inflicted by The Burgue’s human leaders, Jonah Breakspear (Arty Froushan) and Sophie Longerbane (Caroline Ford). Tourmaline (Karla Crome) inherits supernatural powers that threaten her fate and the future of The Row. And, after escaping The Burgue and her vengeful brother Ezra (Andrew Gower), Imogen Spurnrose (Tamzin Merchant) and her partner Agreus Astrayon (David Gyasi) encounter a radical new society which upends their plans. With humans and fae folk divided and freedom on the line, each hero will face impossible dilemmas and soul-defining tests in the epic conclusion of Carnival Row.

We still have to wait until Friday, February 17, 2023 for the show to grace Prime Video. In the meantime, we can (re)watch Season One, check out the new poster they also released below that has Philo and Vignette looking very serious and grim in a crowd, or also listen to my favorite Carnvial Row content, an audio-only novella told by Tourmaline (Karla Crome) about when she and Vingette were lovers (the only relationship in this world that I really care about, to be honest).
