Brace yourselves and focus, because you’re going to need to pay a lot of attention in order to mine these twenty-five seconds of footage for every last detail about The Wheel of Time‘s second season. While New York Comic Con attendees got to see several clips from the show’s next season, this is all the rest of us get… for now.
First, you get a season one recap—in dizzyingly swift editing. And then Moiraine says something that doesn’t come as a huge surprise: “We didn’t defeat the Dark One. We set his strongest lieutenant free.”
There is a lot of violence packed into this short little clip, along with a scene of Rand tied to a wheel; Nynaeve with a sword; many soldiers in shiny gold armor; Lan practicing swordwork; Moiraine being furious; the Amyrlin Seat descending from a carriage; and a glimpse of our new Mat Cawthorn, Dónal Finn. Not to mention the threat of the Forsaken, and whatever it is Perrin is facing that’s got him really pissed off.
Though filming wrapped this spring, there’s not so much as a whisper of a release date for season two yet. But The Wheel of Time has already been renewed for a third season.
