It’s Time to Do a Die Hard in the Trailer for Rick and Morty’s Sixth Season

Mostly, this trailer is chaos. Rick and Morty returns in just a few weeks, and Adult Swim has just released a look at the sixth season—a look which includes explosions, lasers, human shields, and a specific instruction: “Do a Die Hard!”

That instruction may seem moderately clear to some of us, but Summer is seventeen and has never seen the famed Bruce Willis Christmas movie. More details are necessary. But what it all means isn’t quite clear yet. One thing is certain, though: Rick is an Ozzy fan. And there’s more than one superhero reference in here.

Last week, Adult Swim released a short teaser that served to remind viewers of the state of things: “Long story short, the universe as we all know it has ended. But don’t let that get you down.”

In 2018, Adult Swim ordered seventy more episodes of Rick and Morty in a deal with creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. Twenty of those episodes have aired so far, meaning there’s plenty more Rick and Morty to come, even after this upcoming season.

Rick and Morty stars the voices of Dan Roiland, Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, and Spencer Grammer. The new season premieres at 11pm on Sunday, September 4th, on Adult Swim.
