We’re getting a Zita The Spacegirl movie! Fox Animation has acquired the Ben Hatke trilogy, which will be adapted by screenwriters Morgan Jurgenson and Alex Ankeles. Jurgenson and Ankeles’ have previously written Hyperdrive, Subdivision, and Dead Run, plus Jurgenson was the writer of fantastic cult comedy/horror Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil. We don’t have a release date or casting news yet, but Darlene Caamano Loquet will shepherd the story into a feature film.
Zita becomes a hero when her best friend is kidnapped by an alien cult She must fight giant chickens, navigate planets heading for doom, and tangle with a mysterious stranger who follows her on her quests. We can’t wait to see her adventures on film!
