Justice League Art

Tonight you can get a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe in DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League! The CW special, hosted by Kevin Smith and Geoff Johns, will air at 9:30 (EST) and walk DC fans through the slate of movies, give some in-depth info about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and premiere the new Suicide Squad trailer!

While the special is going to feature interviews with the obvious suspects of Ben “Batman” Affleck, Henry “Supes” Cavill, and director Zack “Sound-of-Zod’s-Neck-Snapping” Snyder, the part we’re most excited about are the interviews with our new Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, and the director of the upcoming WW film, Patty Jenkins. That film, set for June 2017, will mark the first time Wonder Woman has starred in a solo outing, and we are just slightly excited to see it. Here’s the full poster for tonight’s event, as revealed on the DC Films Facebook page, with most of the League United!

Here we have Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, the Big Three in the center, and Ezra Miller as We Need to Talk About the Flash. Which is great, but as Superhero Hype pointed out, the original Aquaman poster growled at us to “Unite the Seven”… so, where’s Green Lantern? Hmmm….

Obviously the other stand-out here is the Suicide Squad trailer. Kevin Smith carefully danced around what we’re assuming was a lengthy non-disclosure agreement to say, “I think this is their Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s going to be a sneak fucking stealth hit.” You can hear Smith give more hints about the special on his podcast, and in the meantime here’s the best #squadgoals photo ever:

The whole DCU roster is impressive: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017; The Flash on March 23, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern on June 19, 2020. There are also one solo film each for Superman and Batman, but we don’t have those release dates yet.

Whew. Check out DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League tonight on the CW, and in the meantime: Who are you most excited for?
