The first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is here, in glorious HD! And in case you were wondering why “Batman” comes first in that title, it’s because everyone hates Superman.

Everyone from Charlie Rose to Neil deGrasse Tyson gets in on the Superman hate, so clearly something has gone awry since the end of Man of Steel, and we bet Lex Luthor is to blame.

As we know, in this universe Bruce Wayne hasn’t been Batman for decades, to the point where his alter ego is considered nothing more than an urban legend. It looks like Superman—or, rather, whatever Luthor’s endgame is—will be the thing to bring him out of retirement. But the bigger question is how does Superman get roped into fighting with a millionaire-turned-vigilante who growls at him about whether he bleeds? And what’s with his weird death cult?

Look, it’s a cool idea to unpack how humanity would respond to a singular alien being with superpowers that far outpace anything the average person could imagine. But from the looks of this trailer, it’s really just about two icons in a grudge match. Hopefully this super-butting-of-heads will take place later in the movie, not at the start. If this entire movie is them beating the crap out of each other, count us out.

The biggest takeaway from this trailer is the reimagined Batman—and we get to glimpse his bat armor, which makes him look a bit like his darkness-obsessed LEGO persona. We’re also sorry to report that Ben Affleck has been taking night classes from the Christian Bale School of Growly Voices, but maybe he’ll drop the tough guy act once Supes punches him a few times.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to theaters March 25, 2016.
