Just a Whole Bunch of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 is Coming At You

Lately our resident Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. recapper Chris Lough has been hearing a long, slow train whistle just before he goes to bed. Every night it sounds a little bit closer, and every night he dreams of being tied down on the tracks, a tendril of coal plume just above the horizon…

In anticipation of the September 23rd season premiere of the show’s second season, ABC and Marvel are releasing a bunch of preview material. Take a look below at stills from the first episode “Shadows,” as well as some video of the opening scene, featuring Lucy Lawless, who should really just be going by her actual name in that show, shouldn’t she?

You can watch the first two and a half minutes of “Shadows” here:

Seems like Lawless is working alongside Coulson and crew—for now, at least. Marvel.com released a bevy of new images giving us peeks at the premiere’s cameos as well as setting up some of the conflicts for the season.

Patton Oswalt is back as Agent Billy Koenig, and looking super-psyched about continuing on:

Brian Patrick Wade joins the cast as Carl “Crusher” Creel, better known as The Absorbing Man. What if he absorbs Ward? Will he become even more of a jerk?

Oh, and this guy’s back and still expecting RESULTS. Seems like Talbot finally went on vacation in between seasons. He looks good, you know? Very well rested. Ready for some fun.

Also from the Peggy-flashback scenes: Remember when times were simpler and Hydra wasn’t afraid to put its logo on everything?

Still missing this guy.
