The cast for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes grows ever larger, with Severance and Jurassic World Dominion (and Dollhouse) star Dichen Lachman joining the production.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lachman (pictured above as her character, Ms. Casey, from Severance) is joining the cast in an undisclosed role. She joins Owen Teague, who will play the star ape as well as The Witcher’s Freya Allan, who is playing a leading non-ape part. William H. Macy (Shameless, Fargo), Peter Macon (The Orville, Shameless), and Kevin Durand (Locke & Key, The Strain) are also part of the film, which is now shooting in Australia.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes place several years after the events of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes, and we know from a previously released image that enough time has passed that human-made buildings are well on their way to ruin. THR also has further details on the plot—apes are doing well, but are now fragmented into different tribes while humans are barely surviving on the edges. One of the leaders of an ape tribe is looking to build and empire, and is enslaving others to do so in an attempt to find and use human technologies. A young ape whose group was enslaved escapes to “find freedom,” and meets a young woman (presumably Allan) along the way. Good stuff?

The movie’s director is Wes Ball of Maze Runner infamy and the script’s many scribes are Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison.

No news yet on when the movie will make its way to a theater near you.
