Star Trek V: The Final Frontier Appreciation Giveaway

Every Star Trek movie appreciation this week will have an accompanying giveaway specific to that movie. A bit of history, or something tongue-in-cheek, or something random...whatever feels right.

For today’s Star Trek V: The Final Frontier coverage we’re telling you go climb a rock!

We couldn’t procure Spock’s kickin’ rocket boots but we can offer one lucky person a replica of Kirk’s shirt from the movie, good for climbing implacable mountains, commanding the Federation flagship, or confronting God.

The Official Rules: To enter, post a comment in this post. Duplicate comments won’t be counted. One winner will be randomly selected by noon EST on Friday, May 6th. Please check your email in the 24 hours after the giveaway has concluded; if we don’t hear back from a winner within 24 hours of being contacted, another winner will be chosen.

Stubby the Rocket is the mascot of Tor.com and likes to imagine Kirk’s choice of lightly sardonic casual wear sparking a fashion revolution in Starfleet. Imagine Scotty in a “You want it when?” tee!

In 2009 this video was incredibly popular at The Clarion Workshop. I think it still deserves its anthem status.

I actually bid on this item in the Christie's auction, but was outbid by like $350. I was so bummed because I love the saying and it was so funny when Shatner wore it.

Always thought that was something random that Kirk wore. Very apt for the previous scene, but I didn't think T-Shirt prints would last into the 24th century...

Yeah, that's great. Send it and don't dwell on what she's going to think or say. And for christ's sake, don't send her another message or flowers because you haven't heard back from her. Just pull that trigger and keep your thumb out of the way of the slide. I promise you that in the VERY near future, your head will clear and you'll absolutely NEVER regret ending this.

92. DorieB

By featuring Kirk free-soloing El Capitan, Star Trek V officially moved Star Trek into the realm of fantasy, namely one man's fantasy, William Shatner...
