Paul: International Trailer review

A while back, we looked at the teaser trailer for Paul. Now that a longer-form version exists, let’s jump to some slightly more solid premature conclusions:

1.) It would definitely appear that people who do not like alien genital jokes should stay as far away as they can. By which I mean that I am very much looking forward to this movie.

2.) Some of the camera angles and compositions indicate that, while a proudly immature and nerdy comedy, there should be some actual filmmaking going on.

3.) Jason Bateman as a malicious, gun-brandishing Fed would be worth seeing on his own even if the picture wasn’t written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Who also star. As basically themselves. Which is awesome.

To clarify, the “Valentine’s Day” release date you see in the trailer is for the U.K. release; it’s coming to North America on March 18, 2011. Nerdy teenage boys of all ages (and genders), mark the date. We will make contact. And then we will laugh.
