Launching this summer, The Octavia Project is a free summer program for teenage girls from underserved communities in Brooklyn that uses science fiction to encourage them to dream big while learning the STEM skills they need to design their own futures. We want to send one lucky winner a copy of Fledgling and Bloodchild and Other Stories by Octavia E. Butler, the project’s namesake, provided by Seven Stories Press!
We’ll also include a copy of The Time Traveler’s Almanac edited by Ann and Jeff VanderMeer; The Doll Collection edited by Ellen Datlow; and What Makes This Book So Great by Jo Walton so that you can continue your SFF education with great stories from writers like Ursula K. Le Guin, Nalo Hopkinson, and Pat Cadigan. Find out more about how you can support The Octavia Project here!
