An Extra Buzz! Yellowjackets Season Two Will Get A Bonus Episode

If you’re a fan of Showtime’s Yellowjackets, a show about a 1990s girls soccer team trying to stay alive after their plane crashed in the Canadian wilderness and the aftermath that the survivors still face in present day, then I have good news for you. Season two of the show just ended (and what an ending!) and while season three will premiere eventually (the writers’ room is currently on hold because of the writers’ strike), we now know we’ll get one more episode of the show before then.

Fans have been speculating there might be an additional episode, given that the show’s second season only had nine episodes compared to the first season’s ten. That speculation had buzzheads staying up late last night hoping that another episode might drop. Showrunner Ashley Lyle confirmed on Twitter (via Entertainment Weekly) that no episode was going to air that night. But she also shared that there would be a bonus episode someday.

“Go to bed! Get some rest!” Lyle tweeted. “There will be a bonus episode between seasons, but I love you guys and I don’t want y’all to lose sleep thinking it’s tonight.”

Confirmation! Sadly, however, when that episode will drop on Showtime is still a mystery, though the reason why the tenth episode was held back most likely has to do, at least in part, with Showtime not wanting fans to cancel their subscriptions just yet.
