If the previous Strange New Worlds trailer was all about fun, this one is a little more about… feelings? I’m just saying: There’s way more kissing here than I expected.

But there’s much more than that, too, including the live-action arrival of Boimler (Jack Quaid) and Mariner (Tawny Newsome) from Lower Decks.

Plus, as ever, Ortegas (Melissa Navia) having a blast being very good at her job; Pelia (Carol Kane), our new engineer, getting excited about a crazy idea; “a feeling that something’s in the air”; a reminder that this crew is a group of explorers, which is awesome; and my personal favorite moment: Captain Pike (Anson Mount) casually using a serving tray as a shield. As one does.

The summary says nothing we don’t know, but here it is:

In season two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, confronts increasingly dangerous stakes, explores uncharted territories and encounters new life and civilizations. The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies. Facing friends and enemies both new and familiar, their adventures will unfold in surprising ways never seen before on any “Star Trek” series.

Adventure! Excitement! Danger! New civilizations! (And also kissing.) Sounds about right.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns June 15th on Paramount Plus.
