Charlie Brooker’s dystopian anthology series is back to creep you out—just in time for summer! But will the sixth season of Black Mirror take the expected form? Netflix says it’s “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected season yet,” which seems like it could mean any number of things.

As one baffled person in the teaser asks, “What the fuck… is this? How the fuck is this?” It’s very violent and unnerving and that’s… about all the short first look wants you to know.

Over on Netflix’s Tudum site, Brooker says:

“Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect. … Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is. The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through — but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before.”

Season six’s impressive list of stars includes Ben Barnes, Zazie Beetz, Samuel Blenkin, Michael Cera, Rory Culkin, Rob Delaney, Monica Dolan, Paapa Essiedu, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Myha’la Herrold, Kate Mara, Annie Murphy, Himesh Patel, Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek Pinault, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, David Shields, Auden Thornton, and Anjana Vasan. This season also includes Ms. Marvel showrunner Bisha K. Ali among its executive producers, and, as ever, comes from the peculiar mind of writer and creator Brooker.

Black Mirror returns to Netflix in June.
