Director Neill Blomkamp is heading back into alien territory—or rather, the aliens are once again coming to us. Joel Kinnaman (The Suicide Squad) is set to star in Blomkamp’s They Found Us, an alien abduction thriller set in the wilds of Utah.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Kinnaman will play a father who takes his daughter Kaylee on a camping trip in the Utah wilderness, in an effort to heal their broken relationship. When they are attacked by a hostile extraterrestrial lifeform, they are forced to fight for their lives against a humanoid beast determined to kidnap them and take them to an unknown and terrifying alien world.”

While Blomkamp has written and directed most of his feature films, including District 9Elysium, and Chappie, this one’s screenplay comes from Jeremy Slater, the creator and writer of Marvel’s Moon Knight.

Kinnaman might be most recognizable as Rick Flag in both Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad, but he’s also done some excellent TV work, notably in Netflix’s flawed but appealing Altered Carbon (pictured above). He also stars in For All Mankind and has been on Hanna and House of Cards.

They Found Us will begin shooting in Australia (which is definitely not Utah) sometime this year. No release date has been announced.
