Dungeons & Dragons Movie Reunites Freaks and Geeks Cast for a Quick Game

The well-loved and short-lived Freaks and Geeks ended twenty-three years ago after one season, but a promotion for the upcoming movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, brings three of the nerdy friends back together.

Like all good nerds, the Freaks and Geeks kids loved a good game of D&D. One game between the younger cadre of characters—Sam Weir (John Francis Daley), Neal Schweiber (Samm Levine), and Bill Haverchuck (Martin Starr)—has apparently been going on non-stop since the series’ cancellation.

That campaign has sadly come to an end, however, when Neal rolls a measly four and their characters get pulled into a sticky ooze that dissolves their flesh and bones. Check out the full video below:

They’re all older! And two of them have beards! This is a fun promotional video, as far as promo videos go. And while they all joke at the end that no one should ever make a Dungeons and Dragons movie, I can say (having seen the film) that it is humorously delightful. Chris Pine plays a bard after all, while Regé-Jean Page plays an insufferable paladin and Michelle Rodriguez is a badass potato-eating barbarian. What more could you ask for?

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves premieres in theaters on Friday, March 31.
