When you’ve already created a series of dazzling multiverses, maybe a galaxy far, far away is your rational next stop. Brand-new Oscar winners Daniels, who wrote and directed Everything Everywhere All at Once, are the latest recruits to the Star Wars universe: According to a report from One Take News, they’ve directed an episode of the upcoming Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Or possibly more than one.

As usual, most details about Skeleton Crew are super-secret. What we know is that it stars Jude Law, is set in the same era as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, and is about a group of kids who get “lost in the Star Wars galaxy.” A Vanity Fair article last year said, “Inside Lucasfilm, the show is being described as a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.”

The Hollywood Reporter says both that the duo known as Daniels, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, has directed at least one episode of the show, and more generally that they’re “working on it.” The pair are a high-profile addition to an intriguing roster of creators: Skeleton Crew already has Star Wars TV masterminds Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau as executive producers, and comes from Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts.

With Star Wars Celebration coming up in April, more news may be forthcoming before too long. Skeleton Crew is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
