Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be the 31st(!) Marvel Cinematic Universe film to come out since 2008’s Iron Man. Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Kevin Feige, has been there for all of them, and in a recent interview he gave some “spoilers” as to what’s in store for the future of the MCU, particularly for The Marvels, Oscar Issac’s Moon Knight, and the Daredevil series.

While Feige is the king on giving non-answers in interviews, he gave some new information in a sit down he had with Entertainment Weekly about what we’ll see in future MCU projects. For The Marvels, which comes out this year on July 28, he shared that Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan (pictured above) “essentially steals The Marvels” and added later on that, “the great thing about Kamala in her show, and now in this movie, is that she’s not unlike Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Civil War. She can’t believe she’s with these other heroes, and can’t believe that she finds herself in these places. And that’s fun because we want to be that. I want to be that.”

Later on, Feige shared more about what The Marvels will be about:

“There are fun cosmic elements to it. Marvel comic fans will recognize elements of the Kree-Skrull war. And it’s picking up directly after the end of Captain Marvel 1, not in timeline but in story. We also do that in our upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, and those are two very different follow-ups to that movie. Tonally, they couldn’t be more different. But there’s something immensely powerful about seeing Monica and Kamala and Carol together in a frame. To me, it’s only akin to the first Avengers movie and seeing the six of them together in a frame. It’s chill-inducing. They’re so great together, and they all have different histories with one another.

For those who want to see more of Oscar Isaac’s multi-faceted character in the Disney+ series, Moon Knight, Feige has got some great news for you (maybe). “I think there’s a future for that character as we move forward,” he said unprompted when asked generally about how things went in Phase Four of the MCU.

And as for other Disney+ series? Feige mentioned that the studio planned to toy with episodic storytelling rather than series with an overarching plot. “We want to do shows that can only be shows,” he said. “I want to continue to make them even more episodic, which may seem counterintuitive. But I do think there is something fun about leaning back and watching an episode that can be relatively self-contained.”

Later on in the interview, he called out what show in particular would follow that format. “It’s Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio [who play Daredevil and Kingpin on the Daredevil series], and they’re amazing actors and storytellers in their own right. That’s sort of what I was talking about with the fun of episodic television,” he said. “That’s really where we’re experimenting with that, with Daredevil in particular.”

Daredevil is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in Spring 2024.
