At long last, we have a full-fledged trailer for SYFY’s The Ark, the new space thriller from Stargate SG-1 alums Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner.

The video reveals what we already knew: Things aren’t going so great on the generation spaceship, folks! The specific problems include the entire leadership of the vessel dying when a cataclysmic event damages the ship. Those left alive (who also seem to be a bit young to be in charge of a generation spaceship, but I suppose that’s the point!) have been woken up from their cryo-slumber and have to keep life support up and running, something that is no easy feat. One of them appears to have a katana, which is pretty cool.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.

The Ark stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, and Ryan Adams as the passengers just trying to survive as they limp along to their target planet.

You can check out the trailer below. We also have a new poster to gaze at, which, like the one before it, has another character looking terrified as they gaze out onto the void of space. You can check that out below as we bide our time until The Ark premieres on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00 p.m. on SYFY. If you don’t have cable, don’t fret: It also streams the next day on Peacock. icon-paragraph-end
