It was Agatha all along, along with a bunch of other folks! The Marvel Disney+ series about Kathryn Hahn’s witchy character from WandaVision is in production and we’ve gotten a bunch of news about who will be joining Hahn’s Agatha Harkness on the show.

Arguably the most exciting bit of casting news is that Aubrey Plaza is in Agatha: Coven of Chaos as a villainous character. The idea of Plaza as a villain is intriguing, especially since Agatha was the clear villain in WandaVision. Does a villain of a villain make a superhero? We’ll have to wait and see.

In addition to Plaza, we’ve also found out that Heartstopper’s Joe Locke is part of the cast, though details about his role are sparse. Joining Locke are Ali Ahn (Raising Dion) and Maria Dizzia (The Staircase), though sadly we don’t have details about their respective roles either—I hope they will be members of the coven referenced in the upcoming show’s title. Saturday Night Live alum Sasheer Zamata is also part of the show, though again, we have no idea who the actor will be playing.

Agatha will also be joined by two other faces we saw in WandaVision, specifically Debra Jo Rupp (That ‘70s Show), who played Mrs. Hart for five episodes of the previous Marvel series, and Emma Caulfield Ford, who will once again play Dottie.

Last and absolutely not least, we also know that three-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone is in Agatha. We again don’t have specifics on her role, though according to Deadline’s sources, it seems likely that she’ll be playing a witch (and let’s hope she’ll have a song number or five as well).

No official news yet on when Agatha: Coven of Chaos premieres on Disney+, though it is expected to come out sometime in winter 2023/24.
