Season four of Star Trek: Discovery comes out on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital today, and all of those packages include over ninety minutes of special features. One of those extra videos is the clip above, which shows the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery breaking character in hilarious ways.

The reel, which was first shared by SYFY WIRE, has Michael Burham herself, Sonequa Martin-Green, laughing hysterically when she should be very, very serious. It also has Mary Wiseman talking in a way Tilly would never consider. There are other fun moments too, which proves that saving billions from the DMA in season four wasn’t without some fun times, at least behind the scenes.

I’m glad we’re getting some more Disco stuff, and perhaps those ninety minutes of additional content will be enough to tide us over until season five finally premieres. While the details of what it’s in store for everyone in the show’s upcoming episodes remain sparse (we do know, at least, that Burnham will search for a “treasure” that’s actually an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries), there have also been hints that it may have a more episodic structure.

We don’t have news yet on when season five of the show will premiere on Paramount+, so how that season shapes up remains to be seen. In the meantime, we do have this gag reel! And if you’re looking for more in that vein, the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery is now on Blu-ray, DVD, Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook, and Digital from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. You can also check out the first four seasons of the show on Paramount+.
