What sound does a wolf make when it’s going to die? I have no idea! According to the new Teen Wolf: The Movie trailer, however, we might soon find out.

I should state here that I’ve never seen an episode of the MTV show Teen Wolf, though more than a few folks have said that the show is well-worth a watch. The popular series, which ended in 2017, has got a movie coming via Paramount+ that will feature the return of many (but not all) of the series’ original characters.

We also knew from a teaser that one character we thought was dead—Crystal Reed’s werewolf hunter, Allison—is coming back. Or is she someone else? We’ve got a new full-length trailer for the film, which teases this question but unsurprisingly doesn’t answer it, although it does look like whoever this version of Allison is doesn’t remember some of her old pals. We also see some gross creature that is up to no good? I have no idea if that entity showed up in the series, but either way, it sure doesn’t look like it will be a good thing for the crew from Beacon Hills.

Want more details than we get in the trailer above? Here’s Teen Wolf: The Movie’s official synopsis:

In TEEN WOLF: THE MOVIE, a full moon rises in Beacon Hills and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a werewolf like Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can both gather new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.

In addition to Reed and Posey, the movie stars Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Colton Haynes, Vince Mattis, Khylin Rhambo, Amy Workman, Dylan Sprayberry, Tyler Hoechlin, Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Seth Gilliam, Ryan Kelley, Melissa Ponzio, Ian Bohen, and Nobi Nakanishi.

Teen Wolf: The Movie premieres on January 26, 2023 on Paramount+.
