Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is back. But there’s a twist: His host, fancypants billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton), doesn’t seem to have expected him. So how did the famous detective wind up on the Greek island where Miles is hosting his friends for a murder mystery game?

One suspects this is only one of the mysteries Benoit will have to solve in writer-director Rian Johnson’s latest Knives Out movie.

Even Though I Knew the End

But let’s be real: Are we here for the destination, or the journey? By “the journey” I largely mean basking in the sheer talent of Johnson’s killer cast, which along with Craig and Norton includes Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista. (Given a certain moment in this trailer, it’s possible the credits should include Dave Bautista’s pecs as their own character.)

Here’s the summary:

Benoit Blanc returns to peel back the layers in a new Rian Johnson whodunit. This fresh adventure finds the intrepid detective at a lavish private estate on a Greek island, but how and why he comes to be there is only the first of many puzzles. Blanc soon meets a distinctly disparate group of friends gathering at the invitation of billionaire Miles Bron for their yearly reunion. Among those on the guest list are Miles’ former business partner Andi Brand, current Connecticut governor Claire Debella, cutting-edge scientist Lionel Toussaint, fashion designer and former model Birdie Jay and her conscientious assistant Peg, and influencer Duke Cody and his sidekick girlfriend Whiskey. As in all the best murder mysteries, each character harbors their own secrets, lies and motivations. When someone turns up dead, everyone is a suspect.

Glass Onion will have a brief theatrical run beginning November 23rd, and land on Netflix on December 23rd. Let the murdery holiday fun begin!
