We found out back in April that Apple TV+’s Severance thankfully got a second season after ending their first on a huge cliffhanger. Six months have passed since then, but the show is once again in production and has a slew of new actors on board, including Game of Thrones and The Sandman (pictured above) actor, Gwendoline Christie.

If you haven’t watched the first season of Severance (and you should), here’s the official synopsis for the show:

Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

Critics (including me) had universal praise for the first season, and it’s one of the best shows to come out this year. The cast of the first season was already impressive, and in addition to Scott included Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Chernus.

Season two will add at least eight new characters, one of whom is Christie. The other actors punching into Severance are Bob Balaban (The French Dispatch), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante, John Noble (Fringe), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist), Alia Shawkat (Search Party, The Old Man) and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Unbelievable).

We don’t have news on who each of these actors will be playing, but the level of talent bodes well for season two.

“We are thrilled and delighted to be back on set for the exciting second chapter of Severance,” director and executive producer Ben Stiller said in a statement. “Though we don’t know how long we’ve been gone or who we are outside, we are told people enjoy the show and we couldn’t be happier. Praise Kier!”

The first season of Severance is now on Apple TV+. No news yet on when season two will make its way to the streaming platform.
