We’ve finally got a full blown trailer for Netflix’s Cabinet of Curiosities, an anthology series created and curated by Guillermo del Toro that looks suitably scary—no surprise given that other scary talent such as Babadook director Jennifer Kent and Hannibal director Vincenzo Natali are involved in creating eight terrifying tales.

This trailer not only gives us del Toro as host of the series standing next to the titular cabinet of curiosities, it also gives us glimpses from the season’s eight episodes, some of which come from stories by del Toro, some of which are interpretations of H.P. Lovecraft tales, and others of which are based on stories by Michael Shea, Henry Kuttner, and Emily Carroll.

You can get a rundown on the details of each of those episodes here. If you’re looking for the general gist of the show, however, here’s its official synopsis:

In Cabinet of Curiosities, acclaimed Academy Award-winning filmmaker and creator, executive producer and co-showrunner Guillermo del Toro has curated a collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is created and executive produced by del Toro as well as J. Miles Dale (The Shape of Water; Sex/Life), who also serves as co-showrunner, and Gary Ungar. It features the acting talent of many, including Ben Barnes, Nia Vardalos, Martin Starr, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Crispin Glover, Sofia Boutella, Demetrius Grosse, and Tim Blake Nelson.

The show premieres Tuesday, October 25th on Netflix. Unlike other Netflix fare, however, the series will drop two episodes a night over four consecutive nights for some delightful viewing in the lead up to Halloween.
