The Anne Rice Cinematic Universe is certainly a go. Ahead of Interview with the Vampire‘s upcoming premiere, the AMC series has already been renewed for an eight-episode second season—one that Variety reports will be set in Europe.

Interview with the Vampire stars Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones) as Louis de Pointe du Lac, who is interviewed; Sam Reid (Belle) as Lestat de Lioncourt; Bailey Bass (Avatar: The Way of Water) as child vampire Claudia; and Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio) as Daniel Molloy, who does the interviewing. As the latest trailer confirmed, this time around, Louis and Lestat’s relationship is made much more explicit than it was in the 1994 film adaptation that starred Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

Since the show has yet to premiere, it’s impossible to know exactly how much of the book’s story makes it into the first season, and where the second season will pick up. But it seems very likely—and here I’m going to talk spoilers for a 40-year-old book, just a heads up!—that the first season may end as Louis and Claudia are fleeing to Europe, having left Lestat for dead in a burning house. No casting has been announced for the important role of Armand, who Claudia and Louis meet in Europe, which also suggests he may not appear until season two.

Showrunner Rolin Jones (Perry Mason) said in a statement, “Bulgaria. Romania. Paris. (Ah Paris!) San Francisco. New Orleans. Dubai. The writing staff of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire is honored, humbled, and hungry to add more stamps to our vamps’ passport books. All praises be to our fearless network, we shall endeavor not to screw it up.”

Interview with the Vampire premieres on October 2nd.
