The end of this world is upon us! That’s what Kevin Durand’s Gideon, a redcoat officer who has a demon inside him, hopes for at least.

This final trailer for the third and final season of Netflix’s Locke & Key also hints at what might go down in the show’s last episodes. It looks like Gideon is hellbent on bringing Hell to Earth, and every key that he collects brings him closer to that mission.

It also shows that Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) has a run-in with Dodge/Gabe (Laysla De Oliveira and Griffin Gluck), and may be teaming up with the other demon to bring Gideon down? This is purely conjecture at this point, but who knows!

What does seem likely is that there may be some more time travel shenanigans thanks to the existence of the Timeshift Key, which in the comics (by writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodríguez), allows the wielder to see events in the past via a magic clock (which we also see in the trailer).

Some adults are now in on the whole magic thing thanks to the key the kids found at the end of last season, so we’ll also get to see how they deal with the keys and all that come with them. The details around how things all go down for the Lockes, however, remain to be seen. The good news is that we only have a little over a week to wait to see firsthand how things unfold.

The third and final season of Locke & Key drops on Netflix on August 9, 2022.
