First Kill, the television adaptation of the short story by V. E. Schwab about a sapphic teenage vampire-monster hunter romance, is set to premiere on Netflix in mere days. And to get us thirsty for the show’s release, the streaming platform has released a first look of the two main characters getting together, so to speak.

First Kill centers on the high school student/vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) and the new girl in town/monster hunter Calliope (Imani Lewis). The two become star-crossed lovers—both are looking to achieve their first kill, hence the title of the show—but end up falling for each other instead. Sexy times, along with the associated drama that comes with star-crossed romances, ensue.

Speaking of sexy times, the first look clip suggests that this show will have many romantic moments, with Juliette and Calliope sharing the first of what will likely be many kisses, etc.

The show has Schwab as an executive producer, and the series is helmed by Gossip Girl and Fringe alum Felicia D. Henderson, whose experience in teenage drama and genre seem like a perfect fit for the material.

We can see how the show blends the two when all eight episodes of First Kill premiere on Netflix on June 10, 2022.
