The third and final season of Locke & Key is coming to Netflix on August 10, and the streaming platform released a trailer during part of their “Geeked Week” (nice work, marketers) to celebrate the occasion.

The trailer gives us a better glimpse of what we already know from the television series based on the comics by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez—despite their best efforts in season two, the Lockes still face demons from another dimension, this time in the form of a really bad one inhabiting a Red Coat British soldier from the days of the Revolutionary War.

The end of the teaser, however, gave us a little surprise—Dodge, or at least the actor Laysla De Oliveira who played a version of Dodge in the first two seasons, is back as well.

As we saw at the end of season two—the demon Dodge is not a big fan of the demon possessing the Red Coat Captain. Could Dodge team up with the Lockes to beat a shared foe? Who knows! What’s very likely, however, is that things won’t be so great for the Lockes in the show’s last season, at least at the beginning. We can find out for ourselves when the entire third season of Locke & Key drops on Netflix on August 10, 2022.
