Bid On Cool Props From Wachowski Films and Support Trans Rights at the Same Time

Always wanted a pair of pointy latex ears worn by Channing Tatum and the ability to support trans right simultaneously? If so, you’re in luck—the Wachowskis, the sibling directing duo who brought us The Matrix, Sense8, Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending, and many other films, are auctioning off a ton of their collection to support trans youth.

Lilly Wachowski announced the news on Twitter over the weekend (via Collider), and shared that she and her sister, Lana, have been “doing some spring cleaning” and “have happily decided to pass on some of the best treasures” they’ve been collecting over the years.

Potter & Potter Auction House are hosting the sale of the items, which they’ve descriptively called “Enter the Matrix: The Wachowski Collection.” While there are Matrix-related items up for bid, including these cool models of Trinity in action, they are mostly items from Jupiter Ascending, Cloud Atlas, and their amazing Netflix series, Sense8.

The best part of the auction, however, is that all proceeds the Wachowskis get will go to the Protect Trans Youth Fund, whose goal is to “provide critical funds to organizations providing direct services to trans youth and advocating for the rights of trans youth in states currently targeted by anti-trans policies.”

Currently the Fund stands at about half-funded. If you can swing it, why not get yourself some cool movie memorabilia (or the Wachowskis’ MTV Award for Best Director for The Matrix) and help out a very important cause.

You can currently bid on items online, with a live auction for select items beginning on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 10:00 AM CDT.
