Disney+ has announced the premiere date for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and while it’s in May, they picked not May 4th, but another important Star Wars date: May 25th, which is the 45th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: A New Hope.

Because sometimes the world delivers good things, Ewan McGregor returns to play Obi-Wan in a story that takes place ten years after The Revenge of the Sith, in the wake of the fall of the Republic and the rise of Palpatine’s Empire. One can (and does) hope that this will prove he did things besides hang out on Tatooine while Luke grew up. After The Book of Boba Fett, we all deserve to get off that planet for a bit.

But we’re definitely still on Tatooine for a while, as the new poster makes sandily clear:

The series will also see Hayden Christensen returning to the role of Darth-Vader, and Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse reprising their brief roles as Owen and Beru Lars. Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie also star, but their roles are still secret. (There are some interesting rumors about who Friend is playing, though.) Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian, will direct all six episodes of the Obi-Wan series.

At least two other Star Wars series are expected this year: the second season of The Bad Batch, and the first season of Andor. A spring premiere date has also been rumored for The Bad Batch, but Disney has yet to announce anything firm.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres May 25th on Disney+.
