Supernatural ended after an impressive fifteen seasons in 2020, and while there sadly won’t be any new television episodes for fans to look forward to (though there is that spin-off in the works), there will be a rewatch podcast with Gabriel and God (AKA Supernatural actors Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict respectively).

Deadline broke the news that Speight and Benedict are starting a podcast titled Supernatural Then and Now, which promises to give an inside perspective on the show.

Each podcast episode will delve into a television episode and will feature conversations with guests about behind-the-scenes shenanigans. Dean and Sammy themselves—Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki—will be the podcast’s guests in the first two episodes, the first of which drops on January 24, 2022.

Rewatch podcasts with actors from the show aren’t new (The Office has a great one as does The Expanse, for example), and Supernatural with its fifteen seasons and a strong fanbase seems like it’d be a great addition to this podcast category. I’ve also seen Speight and Benedict interact with each other on several Comic-Con panels, and they’re very funny and very comfortable riffing off of each other, so I’ve no doubt they’ll be entertaining to listen to.

The Story Mill Media podcast will also feature music from the show’s original composers Christopher Lennertz and Tim Wynn, and it will be scripted by Jessica Mason, who wrote The Binge Watcher’s Guide to Supernatural: An Unofficial Companion.

If you’re interested in the series, you can start listening on January 24 wherever you get your podcasts.
