There are bandleaders who think they know everything and can tell everyone else how to do their jobs … and then there’s Dave Grohl. But not just any ordinary Dave Grohl, no, we’re talking about the supernaturally possessed, bandmate-murdering Dave Grohl in the trailer for Studio 666, the wacky-looking horror movie starring the Foo Fighters and friends. Following last month’s teaser, there’s now a full trailer for the film, which reveals tensions among the fictional Foos and a great discovery for Grohl: a new musical note!

(It’s an L. Which kind of sounds like hell, doesn’t it?)

The story follows the band as they set out to record their 10th album. “We’ve gotta break the mold on this one” Grohl says. They decide to hole up in an Encino mansion that has both “the sound” of album ten … and an overwhelming sense of death. No biggie! Surely that can be overcome with the power of rock.

Or not: For one thing, Grohl is tapped out, and tries to pitch “Everlong” as if it’s a new song.

“Once in the house,” the summary explains, “Dave Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.”

Studio 666 is based on a story idea by Grohl; the screenplay is by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes, and the film is directed by BJ McDonnell, who has directed music videos and worked as a camera operator for James Wan (Malignant). It’s in theaters on February 25th.
