During New York City Comic Con, the cast Star Trek: Discovery of the series assembled to talk about the upcoming fourth season, and while doing so, released an action-packed trailer that shows off the hunt for a new threat to the galaxy, along with some snazzy new uniforms.

The series was the first of a new batch of shows that Viacom has released on its Paramount+ streaming service, alongside Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, as well as the forthcoming Star Trek: Prodigy and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. It follows the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery, and was originally set about a decade prior to the original series, before jumping ahead more than 900 years into the future in its third season.

In that future, they discovered that the Federation had largely collapsed due to an event known as “The Burn” that rendered the galaxy’s supply of dilithium inert, and ended up working to track down the source of the disaster.

In this trailer, it looks as though the Federation is getting back on track. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) has been promoted to become the captain of the U.S.S. Discovery, and they’ve got a new threat ahead of them: a massive anomaly that’s five light years wide, which is moving through the galaxy and destroying whatever life it comes across.

The threat prompts some challenges to the new captain as the members of the Federation (And those outside of it) have to figure out how to work together to try and solve the mystery of the anomaly. Along the way, it looks as though there’ll be plenty of action and excitement to keep the crew of the Discovery with their hands full.

The new season will debut on November 18th on Paramount+, as well as on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and Crave in Canada, and on Netflix in other countries around the world.
