Star Wars Visions Will Take Us to Stunning New Corners of the Galaxy

One of the many, many, many Star Wars TV shows announced last DecemberStar Wars Visions is an oddity in the Star Wars universe. The series of short films produced by Japanese anime studios feature stories from all across the galaxy and the timeline—and they don’t have to fit in to the main Star Wars chronology.

Without being bound to established Star Wars lore, the filmmakers had a ton of freedom—and it’s all on display in the show’s new trailer.

There’s so much to take in during these two minutes, and it moves really fast. The stadium on Tatooine appears to be hosting a rock concert (the director of “Tatooine Rhapsody,” Taku Kimura, has described it as a rock opera). There’s a girl with a lot of red lightsabers… and a lot of arms… who seems to be fighting in space. There are new faces and strange relics and an incredibly cool move on icy ground. There’s a bunny person?

Disney released two versions of the trailer: the original version, with the Japanese voice cast, is above, and you can watch an English dub here. The show will also be available to watch with the original cast or with the English cast. The original cast includes Masaki Terasoma, Junya Enoki, Ryoko Shiraishi, Takaya Hashi, Wataru Takagi, and many more; the English cast includes Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, and a whole lot of actors who are new to the Star Wars universe, including Lucy Liu, Simu Liu, Neil Patrick Harris, Henry Golding, Jamie Chung, David Harbour, and George Takei.

Star Wars Visions premieres on Disney+ on September 22nd.
