We are pleased to announce the promotion of Claire Eddy and Will Hinton to Editorial Directors of Tor, Nightfire, Tor Teen, and Starscape, effective immediately.
Claire Eddy has been with Tom Doherty Associates for 35 years. Beginning as an editorial assistant, she has risen to Executive Editor and become an essential part of the company. Her many bestsellers and award-winners include Jacqueline Carey, Juliet Mariller, Sara Douglass, Sherrilyn Kenyon, W. Michael Gear, and others. She is the person that editors go to for tea, advice, and so many other things. Newly reporting to Claire will be Editors Jen Gunnels and Chris Morgan.
Will Hinton has been at HarperCollins, Hachette, and Tom Doherty Associates. The many authors he has worked with include Ann Leckie, James S.A. Corey, Mira Grant, Christopher Paolini, and James Rollins, among others. The person that editors go to for advice on subjects ranging from advances to “talking Devi out of (or into) crazy ideas”, Will is the epitome of the saying that cooler heads prevail. Joining Senior Editor Miriam Weinberg in reporting to Will will be Senior Editors Lindsey Hall, Kelly Lonesome, Ali Fisher, and Melissa Singer.
Additionally, Molly McGhee is promoted to Assistant Editor, effective immediately, reporting to TDA President & Publisher Devi Pillai and to Senior Editor Miriam Weinberg. Molly completed her M.F.A in fiction at Columbia University, where she taught undergraduate writing. Before working at Tor, she worked in the editorial department of McSweeney’s, The Believer, NOON, and FSG. For the last year and a half Molly has been instrumental in her role as assistant to the president and publisher of TDA. She has worked with authors like John Scalzi, Charlie Jane Anders, Orson Scott Card, Katherine Addison, and Cory Doctorow. In addition to helping us launch the Tor Essentials imprint and the John M. Ford reissue program, she has been a key member of the Nightfire team.
