Apple’s satirical workplace comedy set at a video game studio is coming back for a second season on May 7th, and to get viewers ready, the company has released a trailer for the upcoming season, showing that the dysfunctional company is still deeply, hilariously dysfunctional.

The series debuted in February 2020, and comes from Always Sunny in Philadelphia creators Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day. Set in a video game studio called Mythic Quest Studios, which produces an MMORPG called Mythic Quest, created by Ian Grimm (McElhenney) and his team—engineer Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicadao), executive producer David Brittlesbee (David Hornsby), head of monetization Brad Bakshi (Danny Pudi), game testers Rachel (Ashly Burch), and Dana (Imani Hakim), and Nebula award-winning author C.W. Longbottom as their head writer (F. Murray Abraham). They’re all working to put together a new expansion to the game, and along the way, have to deal with flagging morale, competing priorities, annoying underage YouTubers, and the massive ego of their leader, Grimm.

Ahead of its premiere, Apple renewed the series for a second season, and early in the COVID-19 pandemic, released a special episode filmed entirely over Zoom. At the end of Season 1, Poppy was on the verge of leaving the company over her frustrations over how Grimm was leading it, but ultimately stayed and secured a new, better position, and as we see in the trailer for this upcoming season, while she and Grimm appear to be on the same page, everyone recognizes that they’re in a bit of a honeymoon period, and that everything’s about to break down imminently as they work on a new expansion for the game.

We’ll see how that turns out on May 7th, when the series returns. We’ll also be getting a bonus episode ahead of the season this Friday, following the team as they return to the office for an annual party after the lengthy quarantine period.
