Far be it from me to criticize the choices of the great Neal McDonough, who is always happy to have you hate him. You can enjoyably hate him as Damien Darhk in any number of CW shows; as Altered Carbon‘s murderous colonizer; as a cult leader’s acolyte on The 100; or as the mind behind some kind of poorly considered robot murder party in Monsters of Man, for which there’s a new trailer.

Here’s the film’s summary:

A robotics company vying to win a lucrative military contract team up with a corrupt CIA agent to conduct an illegal live field test. They deploy four weaponized prototype robots into a suspected drug manufacturing camp in the Golden Triangle, assuming they’d be killing drug runners that no one would miss. Six doctors on a humanitarian mission witness the brutal slaughter and become prime targets.

This trailer is about 68% people crying and/or screaming as they are chased through the jungle by a quartet of totally-not-Terminators, but in case you find yourself reaching the end and still unclear about the premise, never fear: a character will helpfully spell it out for you in the last scene.

Monsters of Man, writer-director-cinematographer-producer Mark Toia’s first film, is available to stream today.
