Resident Alien, Alan Tudyk’s new series for the Syfy channel finally has a release date: January 27th. The series follows Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, an alien who has crash-landed on Earth and is trying to blend in with his human neighbors.

The series is based on a comic series from Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, which ran between 2012 and 2018. The alien in question, Captain Hah Re, has the ability to convince humans that he looks like them, and is trying to stay one step ahead of the authorities while hiding out in rural America.

Syfy ordered a pilot for the show back in 2018, and was originally slated for release earlier this summer, only to be bumped back to January 2021 due to the pandemic and filming schedules. At New York Comic Con earlier this fall, the Syfy Channel released a 10-minute clip that showed off Hah Re hiding out in Colorado, only to have to deal with the murder of a local doctor. The cast also revealed a few of the guest stars for season one, including Terminator‘s own Linda Hamilton.

The series also stars Levi Fiehler (Mars), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), and Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley).
