Horror writer Joe Hill’s newest short story collection, Full Throttle, out October 1st from William Morrow, is also getting the special edition treatment from Subterranean Press in spring 2020.

The first short story collection since Hill’s 20th Century Ghosts, Subterranean Press will be offering two special editions of Full Throttle designed and illustrated by Dave McKean: the limited version, a signed hardcopy cover with a slipcase, and the lettered version, a signed specially bound copy.

Full Throttle will feature 13 short stories and novellas, two of which were been previously unpublished.

Taken both individually and together, these stories show us a writer in full, mature command of his considerable gifts. Full Throttle is, of course, a dark, unsettling book, but it is also a good deal more. Each story is filled with grace notes. Each is marked by compassion, empathy, and an underlying decency that lends an emotional weight to every page. These stories may have been a long time coming, but—like their author—they’re here to stay. Full Throttle is a gift to Joe Hill’s many readers, and a treasure trove of story worth returning to over and over again.

Joe Hill is the author of the novels The Fireman, NOS4A2, and Horns; the story collection 20th Century Ghosts; and the Eisner Award-winning writer of a six-volume comic book series, Locke & Key.
