Spider-Man: Far From Home contained not just one but two post-credits scenes, both of which could have huge implications for the MCU.

The first credits scene in question was, of course, the return of J. Jonah Jameson, who fell hook, line, and sinker for Mysterio’s ploy to frame Spider-Man for, well, pretty much everything, and is now out to ruin our boy’s life.

The second revealed that the people we thought were Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) were actually two Skrull impersonators (Soren and Talos) during the entire film. This has spawned quite a few fan theories about how Maria has been a Skrull ever since she first appeared in The Avengers, according to The Hollywood Reporterbut Cobie Smulders herself is putting that theory to rest.

In an interview with THR, Smulders said that she didn’t know about the post-credits twist until after production wrapped.

“Literally a week before the movie came out, I found out from Kevin [Feige] that they shot the extra scene [with Maria and Nick],” she told THR. “It was added [during post-production]. That driving footage is from the first scene that got cut out of the movie.”

Smulders added that she doesn’t think Soren has been impersonating Maria since The Avengers.

“They could change it to be that way, but in my mind—no,” she told THR. “I don’t know where she is, but my hope is that she’s on vacation somewhere. In this world, she’s probably just on some other mission.”
