Magic. Adventure. Romance. War… Welcome to the Witchlands. We’re excited to share the covers for Susan Dennard’s Witchlands series—coming October 8th in a new hardcover box set from Tor Teen!

Author Susan Dennard shared her thoughts on the new designs:

“Obviously, I’m really excited about the Witchlands box set (what author wouldn’t be?!), but I think I’m most thrilled to share the new looks for Truthwitch and Windwitch.

Readers loved the Bloodwitch cover so much—as did I—that we decided it would be really cool to give the first two books a refresh. Enter stage left: Cliff Nielsen, the incredible artist behind the Bloodwitch cover. He took the tone of the original covers and added his own unique take.

There’s a grittiness to his style that I think works so well for the Witchlands. Safi looks like she could do some serious damage, and Merik is leaping into flight over the city he would die to protect. (Fun fact, he’s leaping off a sea fox statue.)

I think the new covers will add a nice cohesiveness to the series, but without disrupting the flow of what came before. And I can’t wait to see these beauties in real life in the final box set.

Also! The talented Jessica Khoury has crafted a new, elaborate map of the Witchlands—complete with armies and battles and magical creatures. It will be included in the box set as well, as a full-color poster.”

On a continent ruled by three empires, many people are born with a “witchery”, a magical skill that sets them apart from others. Some command the wind, some the water, some fire, some metal. And some can master the truth, or time, or even death itself.

Now, as war breaks loose and magic is dying, two young women—a Truthwitch and a Threadwitch—may hold the key to a centuries old prophecy that could control the world…if they can survive.
