Amazon Studios has landed a TV series adaptation of Paper Girls, the comic by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Cliff Chiang, as reported by Deadline.

The ongoing series follows four girls who, while delivering newspapers the morning after Halloween in 1988, get wrapped up in a dimension-spanning time-travel war. The girls travel through the past, present, and future (not in that order), encountering different versions of themselves and of other people they met while trying to stay alive and find a way home. Paper Girls will end with issue 30 at the end of July.

Stephany Folsom, a co-writer for Toy Story 4, giver of Forky, will be writing the adaptation as well as producing the series alongside Vaughan and studio Plan B. Paper Girls is the latest comic by Vaughan to be adapted for the moving pictures; FX’s Y: The Last Man and Hulu’s Runaways are both series based on his work.
