Like the monster that he is, Frankenstein seems to be revived every few years or so.

The latest iteration of Mary Shelley’s gothic story comes in the form of a Netflix mockumentary, starring Stranger Things’s David Harbour in a dual role as a fictionalized version of himself and his father.

Netflix’s Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein (a mouthful) is a faux-dramedy that follows Harbour as he examines archived footage of his father’s doomed teleplay adaptation of Frankenstein. But Harbour is warned he might not like what he finds out about his father—one convoluted threat in the trailer suggests he had ties to the mob.

Splicing between the ‘found footage’ and Harbour’s investigation, the 28-minute mockumentary seems to spoof both Frankenstein adaptations and behind-the-scenes documentaries of the late 1970s.

Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein comes to Netflix July 16th.
