Get Nostalgic With the First “Live Action” Trailer For The Lion King

Are you ready for that stampede again? Again? After how it traumatized you in childhood?

Here is the first trailer for Disney “live action” remake of The Lion King:

The CGI is basically what Disney committed to for The Jungle Book remake, so no surprises there. On the one hand, much of this looks exactly like the original Lion King, shot for shot. On the other hand, there is something oh-so-right in hearing Chiwetel Ejiofor’s voice saying Scar’s lines that it’s hard to be bothered.

And then you hear James Earl Jones teaching you about the circle of life and there’s that soundtrack, and… yeah. *sniff*

The Lion King hits theaters on July 19th.
