Hulu Blumhouse Productions Into the Dark The Body Halloween hitman Flesh & Blood Thanksgiving trailers

Hulu has released the first trailer for Into the Dark, its horror anthology series with Blumhouse Productions (Get OutHappy Death DayThe Purge) tackling one holiday-themed horror story a month. It’s like Hallmark, except instead of mistaken identities and happily-ever-afters over Halloween/Valentine’s Day/Mother’s Day, it’s slashers and Final Girls. They wisely chose Halloween for the first installment: The Body follows a professional hitman who finds the perfect cover at a Halloween party.

The official synopsis, from Hulu:

On Halloween, a sophisticated hitman with a cynical view on modern society finds his work made more difficult when he has to transport a body in one night, but everyone is enamored by what they think is his killer costume.

Barry it ain’t, but The Body does seem to be leaning toward tongue-in-cheek riffs on horror tropes and dramatic irony… and who knows, maybe the hitman isn’t the only killer at the party. Watch the trailer:

The Body premieres Friday, October 5. Next month’s installment, Flesh & Blood, will tackle Thanksgiving on November 2:

It’s Thanksgiving and Kimberly, a teenager suffering from agoraphobia, has not left the house since her mother’s murder, which remains unsolved. While under the care of her doting father, Kimberly begins to suspect that she is in danger, and that it’s always the ones you love that hurt you the most.

And here’s a taste of what other holidays will be presented through Blumhouse’s twisted lens (we were not kidding about Mother’s Day) as the year goes on:

Which one are you most excited for?
