Playwright and author Scotto Moore joins Tor.com Publishing with his debut novella Your Favorite Band Cannot Save You, a story of music, of obsession, of violence, and of madness.

Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + the Divine, Phonogram) said it best when he said that Scotto Moore “understands a key truth about Ziggy Stardust: Rock and roll messiahs are really fucking scary.”

Said Scotto Moore:

I’m beyond excited to be working with Tor.com on this release. After years working as a playwright, the opportunity to send a book out into the world is pretty thrilling, particularly this wild story!

Said acquiring editor Lee Harris:

Oh, you would not believe how much I love this book. I love all of my authors’ books, of course, but the prose pulls you through the story at speed, and never lets go. It’s beautifully told and I cannot wait to see what Scotto does next!

Scotto Moore is a Seattle playwright, whose works include the black comedy H.P. Lovecraft: Stand-up Comedian!, the sci-fi adventures Duel of the Linguist Mages and interlace [falling star], the gamer-centric romantic comedy Balconies, and the a cappella sci-fi musical, Silhouette. He is the creator of The Coffee Table, a comedic web series about a couple that discovers their new coffee table is an ancient alien artifact that sends their house shooting through the void. He is also behind the popular Lovecraft-themed meme generator, Things That Cannot Save You (“a catalog of your doom”), and the not popular music blog, Much Preferred Customers.

Your Favorite Band Cannot Save You will be released in early 2019.
