Following Ta-Nehisi Coates and Roxane Gay’s Black Panther series for Marvel Comics, Binti: The Night Masquerade author Nnedi Okorafor is the latest author to explore Wakanda in a new storyline. Black Panther: Long Live the King is a biweekly series set in the world that Coates has built up since he began writing for the superhero in 2016 and “will follow T’Challa as he desperately tries to defend his home from a terrifying new threat,” according to Nerdist.

Okorafor tweeted about the news, which is well timed in addition to the release of Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View (in which she has a story about the trash compactor monster) and the news that she’ll be writing a third YA novel to follow her books Akata Witch and Akata Warrior:

Black Panther: Long Live the King will be released biweekly starting December 13. For the moment it’s digital-only, as part of the comiXology Originals line of exclusive digital content. The Hollywood Reporter points out that the series may follow other comiXology Originals and be collected in a print edition following the end of the serialization.

Marvel Entertainment’s Black Panther comes to theaters February 16, 2018.
