In Dreadnought, readers were introduced to Danny Tozer, a trans teenager whose newfound superpowers thrust her into the limelight—and out of the closet. She may have won her first battle, but there are still plenty of challenges ahead…

I think the cover of Sovereign kicks ass, and I hope that it communicates the somewhat larger scope of the second book. I’m also really glad with how much it hints at what’s inside without spoiling things. The mid-orbit fight scene, the flight from Antarctica, and even a subtle inference about the villain’s ultimate plans. Diversion did a great job with this cover and I’m really excited to share it with people.

Even before I’d read Sovereign, I was imagining Danny in flight on the cover. Flying makes her feel powerful and free, and every scene where she’s in the air is just a joy to read. In the scene depicted here, Danny’s flying into space on a superhero mission. I was so excited to see this section come to life, and it surpassed all of my expectations.
