Grounded: Revealing the Cover for Fran Wilde’s Horizon

We’re excited to show off the cover for Horizon, the thrilling finale to Fran Wilde’s Bone Universe fantasy series. Following Updraft and Cloudbound, Horizon concludes the story of Kirit and Nat, as their society faces the threat of ultimate extinction.

Learn more about the novel and check out the full cover design by artist Tommy Arnold below!

After an initial reaction of “OH HELL YES,” author Fran Wilde had this to say about the cover art:
“Tommy Arnold once more knocks it so far out of the park with these covers—from Updraft’s soaring scope to Cloudbound’s descent and Horizon’s expanse. His skills are immense, his eye for composition and color are spot-on, and his vision for the Bone Universe is unstoppable. That the Horizon cover both reflects and deepens the themes from the previous two novels while standing on its own is something exquisite. I am, as always, exceedingly delighted and honored to have Tommy and the entire Tor creative team, including Irene Gallo and Jamie Stafford-Hill as collaborators on this series.

Horizon publishes September 26th with Tor Books. From the catalog copy:

A City of living Bone towers crumbles to the ground and danger surrounds. Kirit Densira has lost everything she loved the most―her mother, her home, and the skies above. Nat Brokenwings―once Kirit’s brother long before the rebellion tore them apart―is still trying to save his family in the face of catastrophe. They will need to band together once more to ensure not just own survival, but that of their entire community.
